Ever consider a career in Public Safety, including areas such as Fire Science, Homeland Security, or Emergency Medical Services? Then, come sign up for the brand-new Fire and Rescue class being offered at NHS next year. This course, taught by an actual fire fighter, will introduce students to the history, terminology, and basic firefighting skills needed to be a beginning firefighter. Additionally, students will learn the knowledge and hands-on practical skills for managing and controlling a hazardous materials incident as well as study how a fire behaves and learn the basic firefighting skills needed to extinguish it. If you’re interested in this awesome opportunity, talk to your counselor today!
Attn Sophomores and Juniors! If you enjoyed freshman biology and plan to go to college for anything related to biology, you should strongly consider taking AP Biology! It covers the same units as freshman year, but at a college level. It requires much more critical thinking and application of the content, and helps you build essential skills for success in college level science/biology classes. If you have any questions, stop by Ms. Obremski's room 2081. Hope to see you next year!
