IAL Seniors, your first IAL deadline for this semester is Friday, March 15th.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you have earned

3 points by this date.  Do your work early and often and don't risk  

losing your IAL privileges.  

 

Books to "Take and Keep" are now available on the cart in the LMC entryway outside the TEAL Room (Wettrick's class). Come pickup some good reads for Spring Break!

 

The next D&D meeting will be Tuesday, March 12 in the North Gym Balcony.

Then join the NHS Student Ambassadors. They will be having a meeting this coming

The Sociology Club will have its next meeting on Tuesday, March 12. It will be a Harry Potter themed meeting, so be

prepared for food and a movie.  Get a pass from Mrs. Gilbert to attend.

 

 

This Saturday morning, March 9th, NHS will be hosting the SAT- College Entrance Exam.  Those students who have registered for this test should enter the building through the Main doors (Gate 1) by 7:45 AM.  Testing will take place in the English wing and several classes above.

 

•          Room assignment lists will be available in the entry hall when you arrive on Saturday.

 

•          Cell phones and their use are not allowed at any time during SAT testing. If you have a cell phone please leave it at home or in your car. If you do bring a cell phone or any other electronic device, please be aware that a new policy by the College Board requires that those devices be collected by the test administrator prior to starting the exam and will not be returned until the exam is over.

 

Remember to bring:

1- Admission ticket from the College Board, printed from your online registration. You will NOT be admitted without your admission ticket. Electronic versions are not acceptable. 

2- Picture ID - Driver's license or school ID. You will NOT be admitted without a picture ID; electronic ID's are not acceptable

3- Two #2 pencils

4- Approved calculator - you will not be allowed to go to your locker on Saturday morning so please plan ahead.

 

Testing will end at approximately 12:15pm for students taking the SAT without Essay; and 1:00pm for students taking the SAT with Essay. Check with Mrs. Stoffel in the Counseling Office if you have any questions.

   

Attention NHS Students and Staff! The 2019 NHS Spring Play is The
Crucible by Arthur Miller, and it will be running March 7th, 8th, and
9th at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. Tickets are $8.00 & are available at
the door each night. Doors will open at 6:30. Come support the arts
and cheer on your fellow students in this incredible story that will
transport you back to an unforgettable chapter in American history.

 

Prom is only a couple months away.  Are you still looking for that
dream dress?  If so, come to the $25 dress sale on March 16 at Monon
Trails Elementary.  There are thousands of new and gently used
dresses.  Is money tight this year?  If so, ask one of your
teachers to nominate you for a FREE dress - everyone nominated is able
to attend the sale early and get a free dress. For more information,

Noblesville's Riley Dance Marathon Committee is hosting a basketball tournament to raise money to donate to Riley Hospital. The tournament will be held during AL on March 12th and 14th. Sign-ups will be during lunch up until March 8th, or students can sign up using the link on the @noblesvilleFTK twitter. It costs $15 per team to register a 3-5-person team, or the cost is discounted to $5 to any team that has every player signed up for the marathon on March 16th. Money can be turned into Mattie Neely, B-rob, Ms. Soderlund, Ms. Muller, or the tables at lunch. 

 

 

If you are planning to go with Mr. Cole to Spain and Portugal in 2020, remember to enroll by this Friday before the March price increase.  Talk to Señor Cole if you have any questions.

Guidance

Do you know what a healthy relationship looks like?  Bring Change to Mind is having a meeting during AL this Friday, February 22  where we will learn what it looks like to be in a healthy relationship whether it is relationship with a significant other, friend, or family member.   Any student or staff member is welcome to join us in Mrs. Turner's room in room 1256.  We will have food, games, and lots of fun!  Students can get a pass in the counseling office.  Contact Mrs. Meyers in the counseling office for any questions.

Seniors, there are many scholarship opportunities for students interested in pursuing any type of education after graduation.  Check the NHS Counseling Canvas page under "Class of 2019” as well as the school website under "Counseling" and then "Financial Aid and Scholarships" for all the updated list of scholarships available.  They will be updated every week with new opportunities so keep checking them out!  If you have any questions contact Mrs. Meyers in the counseling office.  

 

 

Sports

 

 

The Noblesville Lions Club is sponsoring a Dodgeball Tournament that
will occur Saturday March 16th in the Ivy Tech gym. The club is asking

that one or two groups of high school teams
participate.

Entry fee is only $50.00 per team and team shirts will
be provided. There are two groups that you can compete in depending on
whether you are "blood and guts" or just out for a good time. This
year there will be a competitive league, and a recreational league.
If you have any interest at all, please stop by Mr. Smith's classroom
for entry forms. the whole. tournament will only field 16 teams so
first come first serve. When this announcement was written, 9 of the
16 spots were already filled.
