Noblesville's Riley Dance Marathon Committee is hosting a basketball tournament to raise money to donate to Riley Hospital. The tournament will be held during AL on March 12th and 14th. Sign-ups will be during lunch up until March 8th, or students can sign up using the link on the @noblesvilleFTK twitter. It costs $15 per team to register a 3-5-person team, or the cost is discounted to $5 to any team that has every player signed up for the marathon on March 16th. Money can be turned into Mattie Neely, B-rob, Ms. Soderlund, Ms. Muller, or the tables at lunch.
If you are planning to go with Mr. Cole to Spain and Portugal in 2020, remember to enroll by this Friday before the March price increase. Talk to Señor Cole if you have any questions.
Due to ISTEP testing during AL, the February 26th Dungeons and Dragons meeting has been cancelled. The club will meet again on March 12th during AL.
Purdue University will host their Women in Engineering Program on Monday, April 8. If you are interested in Engineering (as a female junior student), you may register to attend at www.purdue.edu/WIEP. You would be able to count this as one of the days you receive for college visits. Pick up a college visit form in the counseling office. This program is limited to the first 250 students who register.
Seniors, there are many scholarship opportunities for students interested in pursuing any type of education after graduation. Check the NHS Counseling Canvas page under "Class of 2019” as well as the school website under "Counseling" and then "Financial Aid and Scholarships" for all the updated list of scholarships available. They will be updated every week with new opportunities so keep checking them out! If you have any questions contact Mrs. Meyers in the counseling office.
Track & Field results: IWU HSR T&F qualifier (Hoosier State Relays)
Our girls had a strong showing at Saturday's Track & Field Indoor State qualifier. Qualifying will continue over the next two weeks. There were 11 qualifiers (11 Indoor venues) this weekend with more than 200 schools participating. IWU highlights below.
NHS girl’s performances:
*4x800m Rel team post the fastest time in the State by 14 seconds members included: Maria Anderson, Anna Hazelrigg, Bella Sharples-Gordon and Aubrie Deal
*Shelby Tyler was a double winner. Her Vault and HJ victories will be among the States best performances. She also participated in a season best 4x200m Rel. see below
*Lindsay Wormuth performance in the 60m Hurdles should place her in the States top 15
*Distance Medley team of Bella Sharples-Gordon, Grace Brisco, Anna Hazelrigg and Aubrie Deal posted the 7th fastest time in the State (13:09). They were the only girls to double over the week.
*4x200m Rel. the girls post a season best 1:51.17. members of the team were: Grace Brisco, Sandra Jackson, DeLaney Boles and Shelby Tyler
*Anna Kiser and Aubrie Ginther got their season off to a solid start. Their SP performances were season best
*Aubrey Swart posted a season best in the 3200m run (11:54.94). Also having season best and placing in the fast heat were: Madison King and Sophie Stahl.
There will be a cheer call out meeting for the 2019-2020 season for both football and basketball teams on Tuesday, March 5th at 5:30 pm in the jr/sr cafe. if the interested cheerleader is not able to attend, a parent must be at the meeting to collect information
All Pro Dads is calling all NHS Dads (Mom’s and Grandparents are welcome also). Want to have some quality time with your NHS student and some great fellowship? Friday March 1st, start time is 6:15 AM and finish by 7:00 AM. We'll meet in the Junior/ Senior Cafeteria - #3102, Enter via Door 4.
