Last Saturday, January 26th, NHS's own four show choirs, The NHS Singers, The New Dimension, Sensation, and Milltonez competed at the Fishers Silver Spotlight Show Choir Invitational. It was their first competition this season and they had spectacular performances! It was a clean sweep for The NHS Singers. They won the honor of GRAND CHAMPION in the Mixed Show Choir Division. The Singers also won caption awards for Best Crew, Best Band, Best Costumes, Best Choreography and Best Vocals. The New Dimension won 1ST RUNNER UP in the Unisex Show Choir Division. In addition, The New Dimension won caption awards for: Best Crew, Best Choreography and Best Band. Also, wonderful performances were given by the newly formed, all-male show choir, Milltonez and by the all-female show choir, Sensation. Zach Hillers and Aubrey Brolsma also participated in the Solo Competition. Aubrey's performance led to her placing third overall. Many CONGRATULATIONS to all the members of the show choirs, band, crew, and Directors John Neubauer and Kelsey Maxwell! The next competition will be held at Franklin Community High School, this Saturday, February 2nd, where The NHS Singers, The New Dimension, and Sensation will be competing in addition to Solo Competition participants MaryClare Burch and Abby Krent. Noblesville's Got Talent is quickly approaching! Don't miss this
There is so much to see outside of Noblesville. Would you like to see cities such as Madrid, Salamanca and Lisbon? Any student enrolled in Spanish at NHS can travel with Mr Cole and Mr. Slain to cities in Spain and Portugal in June of 2020. These trips have been a positive learning experience for students since 2008. Come to an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 5th at 6:30pm. Enter through gate 40 and go to room 1237. Contact Mr. Cole if you are attending. Parents are encouraged to attend.
Bring Change 2 Mind is having a club meeting on February 1st during AL where we will be talking about healthy relationships and are going to be playing self-love BINGO! The meeting will take place in the Auditorium where there will be snacks. All students and staff are invited! Passes can be found in the counseling office.
Mr. Kenley is offering the only advanced creative writing class in the state of Indiana. What do you have to do to get in? Take Basic creative writing first or AP Junior English. What will you do once you're in? That's up to you. You can write a screenplay or a novel or a collection of poems. Whatever you choose to take on, Mr. Kenley will guide you. If you're a writer or a poet, sign up for Creative Writing with Mr. Kenley.
Why wait until after high school to have a quality internship or cadet teaching experience? Do it during your senior year! Our NHS interns and cadet teachers are part of the premier program in the state of Indiana, which offers opportunities for career experiences in almost any career pathway you can imagine for all our students. We are having a call-out meeting for anyone interested in learning more about the program on January 30 at 1:15 in the main cafeteria. Can't make the meeting? When you leave the student parking lot during the AL block PLEASE NOTE that the exit drive is only a ONE-LANE exit drive. DO NOT use both lanes to exit the student parking lots during AL. The exit drive is only two lanes when an officer is present and directing traffic. If you have questions see Dr. McCaffrey.

Purdue University will host their Women in Engineering Program on Monday, April 8. If you are interested in Engineering (as a female junior student), you may register to attend at www.purdue.edu/WIEP. You would be able to count this as one of the days you receive for college visits. Pick up a college visit form in the counseling office. This program is limited to the first 250 students who register.
Seniors, there are many scholarship opportunities for students interested in pursuing any type of education after graduation. Check the NHS Counseling Canvas page under "Class of 2019” as well as the school website under "Counseling" and then "Financial Aid and Scholarships" for all the updated list of scholarships available. They will be updated every week with new opportunities so keep checking them out! If you have any questions contact Mrs. Meyers in the counseling office.
All Pro Dads is calling all NHS Dads (Mom’s and Grandparents are welcome also). Want to have some quality time with your NHS student and some great fellowship? Friday Feb 1st, start time is 6:15 AM and finish by 7:00 AM. We'll meet in the Junior/ Senior Cafeteria - #3102, Enter via Door 4. Breakfast is a Hardees Breakfast Biscuit (Egg and Bacon or Sausage) and Milk or Coffee, cost is $4 per person. This month’s topic is Kindness and Loyalty.
