Attention Key Club members! We will have our club yearbook picture on Thursday during AL. Meet in front of guidance/main office by 1:20. You can stay and paint #KindnessRocks in Mrs. Obremski's room after the photo, or return to AL right away. You can get a pass from Mrs. Obremski in 2081 or Mrs. Shonkwiler in the main office, admin hall. See you there!
Attentions students, auditions to be part of choir and show choir for next year are coming up quickly.
Sign up for a short vocal audition in the choir room hallway if you want to audition for show choir, the dance will be taught in the choir room during AL on 2/6 and 2/8. The audition will be during AL on 2/12.

Attention German Club members!
Staatskongress is quickly approaching. We will be attending this day celebrating German language and culture on February 24. For more information and trivia, come to the meetings on Monday 1/29 and Friday 2/2. Permission slips due Monday 2/12.

News from Guidance
If you took the PSAT in October and have not received your score report, please stop by the Counseling Office to pick them up. Any unclaimed score reports that are remaining by Friday of this week will be filed away.
NHS will be hosting the SAT on Saturday, March 10th. If you are a Junior and you are planning to attend a 4-year college or university, you will want to take this college entrance exam. Go to www.sat.org to register by Friday, February 9th. If you qualify for free/reduced lunch, text book assistance or if you are a 21st Century Scholar, see your school counselor for a fee waiver. Make sure to mark your calendars and get registered asap - space is filling up quickly.

The following Colleges will be visiting NHS during AL soon! Check out Naviance to sign up & to view a complete listing & details of all college visits. You may also see Mrs. Parish in Guidance to sign up for the visit. A pass will be sent to you the day of the visit.

IPFW will be visiting NHS Wednesday, Mar. 13th at 1:00
Lunchroom- College & Military Visits
The following colleges & military will be visiting our school café during all lunches, be sure to stop by their table!
- S. Army will be visiting our school café Thursday, Feb. 8th.
Marine Corp. will be visiting our school café Friday, Feb. 9th.
Army National Guard will be visiting our school café Wednesday, Feb. 14th.

SAT PREP is a college entrance exam prep course designed to enable students to improve their scores by providing greater test awareness and learning test strategies. This class incorporates preparation on the multiple-choice portions of the SAT as well as practice with the written essay. The class consists of ten 2-hour sessions to prepare students for the May 5th SAT. The dates of the sessions are Mondays, February 19th, February 26th, March 5th, March 12th, March 19th, April 9th, April 16th, April 23rd, April 30th, and Thursday, May 3rd.
Students have two times from which to choose:
3:00pm - 5:00pm OR 5:30pm - 7:30pm
Please come to the Counseling Office to pick up a registration form or download it from the NHS website. Return the registration form to Guidance along with a $70 check or exact cash. Students will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis. Classes will be limited to twenty students in each session.
Don’t forget to register for the May 5th SAT at www.sat.org. The registration deadline is April 6th. 21st Century students and students who qualify for textbook assistance may see their counselor for a fee waiver.

Attention Seniors!
Sometimes colleges ask students to send an updated transcript at the end of the Fall semester.
If you need to send updated grades (your 7th semester transcript) to a college or university, please complete the 7th Semester Transcript Request Form available on the NHS Counseling website. Do NOT add the college to your list again in Naviance. *Counselors will send 7th semester transcripts as soon as they are available in mid-January.
Attention Seniors!
The Central Indiana Community Foundation Scholarship Application is open! Apply for several scholarships through one common application. Check out the details in Naviance. Applications are due by February 6th of 2018! Be sure to check out the scholarships listed on Naviance. You will find them under the "Colleges" tab. New scholarships are posted every day. See your counselor if you have any questions.
Sports
Your Lady Miller swimmers all made it through sectional prelims last night. All 24 individual swims + the 3 relays return to finals on Saturday. Our girls posted lifetime bests in almost all events. Come see them perform Saturday at the NHS Natatorium. Diving starts at 9:00am and swimming and diving finals at 1:00pm. Good luck Millers!
NHS!!!
The dodgeball teams are set. Come view the championship games on Feb. 8th during AL. As an extra bonus, the NHS dance team will be performing, AND you will see your favorite teachers running, diving, and pulling all kinds of muscles!!! Tickets are ONLY $1. They can be purchased at Student Services or from the following teachers: The Giordanos, Mr. McKinney, Mr. Craw, Mr. Small, Mrs. Pasa, Ms. Fotiades, Mr. Robbins, Mrs. Cox, and many others. Come out! You won't regret it!!!
