Incoming 6th grade information

Dear 5th Grade Parents and Students,

Let me be the first to formally welcome you to the NEMS family! While we know these times are uncertain, we are excited for next school year and we hope this information will help to answer questions you have as you begin to think about the transition to middle school. Below is a link and instructions to access our 6th grade Canvas information page, where you’ll find a video welcome message from me, a virtual tour of our school, and general information you’ll need to know. Many of our traditional 6th grade orientation plans are on hold until we receive more direction. Once this happens, we’ll be able to give you more detail on the start of the school year and our student orientation program.

To access the Canvas course, have your student login to Canvas and accept the invitation for the course titled: "NEMS Incoming Students 20-21". Once your student has accepted the invitation, your student can access all course materials and resources. As a parent/guardian, you can enable co-enrollment in this course so that you have direct access in your Canvas account. Instructions regarding Canvas co-enrollment for parents/guardians can be found at  https://www.noblesvilleschools.org/Page/6533

Also, I know that many are already aware I will transition to my new role as Director of Secondary Learning for Noblesville Schools on July 1st. Until that time, I remain your principal at East and encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. I have been working closely with our district leadership, NEMS administrators, and counselors to be sure the transition to our new NEMS principal is as smooth as possible for you and your children.

Please stay healthy and safe, and we will see you soon!

Sincerely,

Ryan Rich

Principal
