Summer School 2023 General Information
ENROLLMENT

FINAL DEADLINE to enroll is MARCH 24, 2023.

Students will sign up for courses with their school counselor. They will not sign up for courses independently.

Students who fail a 2nd semester course and want to retake it in the summer will have the opportunity to enroll in May.
-
Parents and students will receive email notifications of summer school enrollment.

Current 8th grade students’ families will receive an enrollment link from their principal or click here.
IN PERSON

Students may drop with no penalty by June 9 (session 1) and June 30 (session 2).
-
Students who request to drop after these dates will receive an F.
-
Students who have not completed at least 30% of the course by June 9 (session 1) and June 30 (session 2) will be dropped with no penalty.

INDEPENDENT STUDY
-
Students may drop with no penalty by June 20.
-
Students who request to drop after June 20 will receive an F.
-
Students who do not complete at least 30% of the course by June 20 will be automatically dropped with no penalty.

ATTENDANCE
-
IN PERSON
-
In person attendance will be MANDATORY Monday thru Thursday @ NHS from 7:30 - 12:30.
-
Students will be removed from the course after their 2nd absence or 10 hours of absence.

Fridays will be held virtually and attendance is required.
-
This applies to PE courses too.

INDEPENDENT STUDY
-
Students will take the course virtually.
-
Students will be required to complete their final exam in person.
-
Teachers will offer optional, in-person office hours each week at NHS.

Students may take only one independent study course.
-
Students enrolled in an Independent Study course cannot take any other summer school course.

TRANSPORTATION

Will be provided if requested for in-person courses only

Once a student is enrolled in summer school, look to ParentSquare for more detailed information.

Deadline to secure transportation will be May 1st.
