Advanced Manufacturing I

  • Grades: 11, 12 
    Advanced Manufacturing I, is a course that allows students to earn a high school elective credit as well as a 3 hour dual credit from Ivy Tech. Students will have the opportunity to earn industry credentials including MPRO, APICS, and MSSC certifications. Advanced Manufacturing 1 can be taken after successfully completing Introduction to Manufacturing and Logistics. Topics from Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics are studied in more detail and breadth. Some of the main areas of study include: Safety Principles, Print Reading, Electrical Systems, Manufacturing Automation, Production Technology, Electricity, Plant Floor design, CNC principles, lean manufacturing, manufacturing controls, machine tooling, manufacturing materials
    Prerequisites: Introduction to Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics
    • Credits: 1 credit per semester, 2 semesters 
    • Counts as a Directed Elective or Elective for the General, Core 40, Core 40 with Academic Honors and Core 40 with Technical Honors diplomas
    • Dual Credit (MPRO 102 & 122 through IvyTech – 6 credits!) 
    • Earn 1 APICS and 1 MSSC certificate
