NHS HEALTH AND WELLNESS...... Why Health? Well because lives depend on it. This health course is designed to provide you with the information that you need to make responsible and beneficial choices throughout your lifetime. Being "healthy" means more than just eating good food and not getting sick. It means performing at your best, physically (not just in sports, also feeling energized) mentally (not feeling stressed out, having self-esteem). and socially ( our interactions with others can have huge consequences, both positive and negative, so it is important to include this aspect as well.)Being healthy also means that you can make responsible decisions that do not damage your health or the health of others around you.This 18 week course will focus on the students "the physical, mental/emotional, and social well-being" or what is known as the health triangle.
Our goal as you read the chapters and lessons in this course and work on your IPADS and interactive lessons you will gain a strong knowledge base in all of the following areas:1. GENERAL WELLNESS, FITNESS, NUTRITION, & STRESS MANAGEMENT2. BODY SYSTEMS - MUSCLES AND BONES3. CANCER EDUCATION4. CPR EDUCATION5. DRUG AND ALCOHOL AWARENESS6. HUMAN SEXUALITY
