Hello, my name is Derek Ruble. I am teaching 8th grade social studies for the Wake Forest team and I am the social studies Department Chair at Noblesville East Middle School. I also co-sponsor an after-school civics club called We The People NEMS and the eighth grade Washington D.C. Trip.
I grew up in Greensburg, Indiana. I decided to become a history teacher when I was a junior in high school. I was fortunate to have teachers and coaches who gave me confidence, which had a strong influence on my development as an adult. I wanted to give back and provide that same influence to young people today. I have always had an interest in the development of our country and the foundations of our government so U.S. history was an easy choice of content area for me. I attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana to acquire certification for becoming an educator.
After college I married my high school sweetheart. We currently reside on the south-side of Indianapolis. We also have two children.
This will begin my thirteenth year in education and my sixth year at Noblesville East Middle School. I look forward to an engaging and purposeful 2017-2018 school year.
