This newsletter is written for the week of November 30th.
Reading Workshop: All of the anchor charts that I make for class and mini-lessons will be posted on Clever for the students to use at any time. They can use these at home when they are reading.
We worked on taking notes while we read. We focused those notes on how characters are feeling based on what they have said and done. We then took our notes and used them to in book clubs to discuss the characters. The discussions went really well. Students were getting deeper in their discussions. We will continue book clubs during morning work and late afternoon time. Next week we will be switching our focus to nonfiction reading, more specifically nonfiction text features.
We also read a Journey's story. We also practiced some more how to participate in a book club. We will had a test on the Journey's story on Friday.
Mobymax - Mobymax is a great place for students to get extra practice with phonics patterns, sight words, lang. and reading skills. Mobymax can be accessed through Clever.
