Department Overview

The Noblesville Schools Technology Department drives student achievement and academic growth by seamlessly integrating modern technology into the curriculum. Working in close partnership with the Department of Learning, we empower students and staff with future-ready skills, robust digital tools, and a secure infrastructure across all district facilities.

Our team provides network infrastructure, device management, systems administration, and technical support for over 13,000 users across 10 school buildings, the administration center, transportation, community, and maintenance facilities. From maintaining high-speed connectivity and supporting our Student Information System (PowerSchool) to protecting student data privacy, we ensure our learning environments are safe, reliable, and innovative.

An Integrated Approach to Building Digital Literacy and Citizenship

Technology in Noblesville Schools is purposefully embedded across all grade levels to give students authentic ways to solve problems, analyze data, and create original content. Rather than using technology for its own sake, every hardware choice, app, and platform is selected to enhance teaching and learning in a developmentally appropriate way.

We emphasize helping students become critical consumers of information and skilled creators of digital content. District instructional coaches collaborate daily with teachers—delivering timely professional development and co-leading innovative, tech-based classroom initiatives.

What Does Technology Look Like in our Classrooms?

• Elementary (Grades K–2): Classrooms foster early technological fluency. Younger students use iPads to listen to reading, practice math foundational skills, animate stories, and learn basic coding concepts. Early lessons focus on device care, basic operation, and healthy digital habits.
   

• Intermediate (Grades 3–5): MacBooks are introduced alongside iPads. Students develop keyboarding skills, leverage the collaborative power of Google Workspace for Education, write research reports, build presentations, and reflect on their learning. Digital citizenship lessons focus on managing digital footprints, conscientious screen time, and online safety.
   

• Secondary (Grades 6–12): Students utilize a dynamic mix of Windows, macOS, and iPad devices while deepening their expertise in Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and specialized creative tools. Canvas (our Learning Management System) serves as the central digital hub where students submit work, track rubrics, collaborate with peers, and communicate with teachers. Secondary digital citizenship expands to include online research ethics, evaluating AI and media credibility, data analysis, and balancing personal technology with academic focus.

Through tailored device deployment and intentional instruction, Noblesville Schools ensures every student graduates with the adaptability, technical literacy, and strong digital citizenship needed for college, career, and beyond.
