Noblesville High School recently decided to offer a Summer School Spanish course for incoming 9th grade students. This is a Spanish I Second Semester course (the same one that students take/took 2nd semester in 8th grade). This course will be taught 100% online.

If you have questions regarding this course, please direct them to nhs_summerschool@nobl.k12.in.us

Introducing Summer School Spanish - This summer, our students will have the opportunity to enroll in a summer school Spanish class. Purpose of the class: •To help students earn credit for classes in which they were unsuccessful. •To increase comfort by reviewing Spanish before continuing to the next level. Spanish I Second Semester: Who qualifies for this class? •Anyone who received a C or lower in Spanish I (Middle School) and wants to improve their grade and receive credit. •Anyone in middle school who earned an A or a B and wants to review material again before high school (no new credit given in this situation). •Anyone who needs to recover credit from a high school Spanish I class. Why second semester? If a student can show knowledge of second semester material, they are able to transition successfully to the next level. A student needs to use first semester material to successfully complete semester 2. So, they can also show knowledge of previous information learned. This allows us to more specifically target the class to meet student needs.

Welcome to NHS video from Dr. McCaffrey, NHS principal:  Click here to view video

This video is a pre-welcome to the 8th-grade class but also contains Dr. McCaffrey's perspectives on scheduling courses and thinking about your 4-year class plan. The information covered in the video is what Dr. McCaffrey would have covered at the course fair general session had we been able to have one this year. Also, Dr. McCaffrey said 'short' video in the introduction but it actually turned out to be longer than expected so you may want to watch it when you have 30 minutes of time or maybe watch it in two parts.
