Mr. Gerry Porter
This will be my 32nd year teaching math at Noblesville High School, 33rd year overall, and I couldn't be happier to be part of such a wonderful, respected academic tradition. I am a 1982 graduate of Kokomo High School and a 1987 graduate of IUPUI, after spending two years in Jacksonville Florida on a baseball scholarship. My wife Shelly (a Warren Central grad) and I have been married for 31 years and we have two kids.....a 27 year old daughter and a 25 year old son, both married and both very successful in their communities.
I coached baseball here at Noblesville for the first 5 years that I taught with two highly respected coaches by the name of Bob Tremain and Dennis Kas. After the births of my children, I resigned from coaching for 3 years, only to return and coach baseball another 5 years with Kas and two new good friends in Dave Mundy and Dean Mueller. A year after moving into the new high school, I was offered the newly formed position of Ticket Manager, which caused me to have to resign from coaching again, and I have enjoyed working in the Athletic Office ever since.
In the summer of 1998 I started a pool management business that grew from managing our neighborhood pool to a full-fledged pool/spa business in just 4 years. After 20 years of getting to know and work with many people/subdivisions and their pools/spas in Cicero, Fishers, Westfield, Zionsville and Brownsburg, I sold my business to settle down a little and spend more time with my family.
I love sports, camping, fishing, road trips, concerts on the prairie and our 2 dogs and 4 cats. I love living and teaching in Noblesville, and the people of Noblesville that I work with every day at Noblesville High school. We are lucky to be part of such an awesome community.
