Mr. Gerry Porter
This will be my 25th year teaching math at Noblesville High School, 26th year overall, and I couldn't be happier to be part of such a wonderful, respected academic tradition. I am a 1982 graduate of Kokomo High School and a 1987 graduate of IUPUI, after spending two years in Jacksonville Florida on a baseball scholarship. My wife and I have been married for 25 years and we have two kids.....a 21 year old daughter who attends IUPUI studying Speech Pathology and a 19 year old son who attends Rose Hulman studying Bio-Medical Engineering..
I coached baseball here at Noblesville for the first 5 years that I taught with two highly respected coaches by the name of Bob Tremain and Dennis Kas. After the births of my children, I resigned from coaching for 3 years, only to return and coach baseball another 5 years. A year after moving into the new high school, I was offered the newly formed position of Ticket Manager, which is the reason I had to resign from coaching again, and I have been enjoying working in the Athletic Office ever since.
In 2008 I decided to extend my summer job of supervising and maintaining neighborhood pools and started Porter Pool Management, LLC. Growing only by word of mouth, we now have 8 pools that we service each summer and we continue to grow thanks to excellent recommendations from our existing customers. It is great summer work for me, not to mention my employees, but does become very hectic for me when school is back in session.
I love most sports, fishing, road trips, volleyball and especially my 2 dogs and 3 cats. I love teaching and the people I work with every day at Noblesville High school. We are lucky to be part of such an awesome community.
