This is Dennis Scheele and I teach 2D Art as well as Digital Design at Noblesville High School. I am also the acting Department Chair this 2018-19 school year. I'll be starting my 42nd year of teaching/coaching. I began my teaching career in 1977 at Pike Central High School (Petersburg, IN). I spent seven years teaching art and served as Head Coach of both Boys Cross Country and Boys Track & Field before relocating to Noblesville High School in 1984. My 35 years at Noblesville continue to be both productive and rewarding. The art program at NHS had less than 120 students taught by 1.5 art instructor’s in 1984. Today (2018-19) we have 7 art instructor’s and approx. 975 student’s exploring visual art. I'm currently serving my second stint as the department chair beginning 2017 to current. I began as the chair in 1984 through 2011-12 (28 years). In addition, my first extra-curricular position at Noblesville was in the Fall where I was the assistant Tennis coach. I took over the Head Girls Cross Country position in the Fall of 1985 to present. I’ve serve as the Girls Head T&F Coach from 1985 into the mid 1990’s where I moved to assistant distance coach. I took off 3 years before returning to Girls Head T&F position in 2010 to present.
