    What is a habitat?   How are plants and animals the same and different?    How do habitats meet the needs of the animals that live in them?  
    How do living things use their body parts to help them survive?  What makes up soil?  How do types of soil differ?  How do earthworms help soil?
    Enduring Understandings:
    Plants and animals have basic needs for growth and survival.
    Plants and animals depend on one another for survival.
    Living things have unique body parts/coverings that help them survive in their environments.
    Animals live in habitats that meet their needs for survival.
    Soil is made up of particles of rocks and minerals mixed with organic matter.
    There are different types of soil.
