Noblesville Schools Education Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 1987 to raise private sector funds to support Noblesville Schools and to assist teachers in the pursuit of excellence in their classrooms. NSEF provides resources in the form of grants and scholarships.
Projects funded by the foundation provide students learning and enrichment opportunities beyond the classroom in areas such as foreign language, social studies, reading, science, and drama. Funds also support programs to expand creative thinking skills and to improve attendance and citizenship within the schools.
In addition to funding these activities, the foundation provides a scholarship to a graduating senior who plans to major in education in college and to a teacher who is furthering his or her education.
Since 1987, more than $200,000 has been awarded in grants to the teachers and schools for enrichment programs. Nearly every student in Noblesville Schools has benefited from the grants program through the various projects, activities, and events that have been funded.
Funds are raised from a variety of resources, including individual memberships, corporate and organization contributions, deferred and planned gifts, and fund-raising events.
The foundation receives additional funds when donors purchase the “Garfield Education” license plate through the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and specify Noblesville Schools as the recipient of the funds.
In addition, the foundation’s life membership program, designed to increase growth of the endowment and to provide further financial stability for the organization, was established in 1990. In 1998, the foundation placed its endowment funds in The Legacy Fund of Hamilton County, which is a part of the Central Indiana Community Foundation.
Contributions to the foundation may be made throughout the year. The address is P.O. Box 724, Noblesville, IN 46061.
