 About the reviews... This column will feature new book reviews each Monday morning. Most of the columns will be written by Noblesville Schools' library media specialists but a few will be written by FOCUS students.

Books for summer reading Fourth-grade students in Mrs. Carol Lohe's FOCUS class at Forest Hill Elementary School offer reviews of eight books. The first three are dog stories. Shiloh is a classic, Because of Winn-Dixie more recent, and A Dog's Life recently won the 2010 the Young Hoosier Book Award. The next four are also Young Hoosier nominees (The Society of Super Secret Heroes, Gabriel's Horses, Punished, The Lemonade War). Hoosier schoolchildren are actually the ones who select the winners each year, after having read or listened to at least five of the nominees. The last review is of a favorite Andrew Clements book, The School Story.
