School board to consider cost-saving measures of $3.4 million; meeting is at NHS

Similar to actions being taken by school corporations across the state and in order to balance the budget of Noblesville Schools, Dr. Libbie Conner, superintendent of Noblesville Schools, will recommend a list of cost-saving measures totaling more than $3.4 million to the Noblesville Board of School Trustees on March 16. The meeting will be in the Large Group Instruction Room at Noblesville High School.

Book signing, store sales to benefit Education Foundation

Noblesville novelist Susan Crandall and downtown merchant Rori Anderson are teaming up to benefit the Noblesville Schools Education Foundation. Crandall, author of nine novels published by Grand Central Publishing (formerly Warner Books), will be at Anderson's store, Linden Tree, from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, to sign her books.

School board hosts next community forum on April 14

Members of the Noblesville Board of School Trustees will meet the community to discuss the building projects and the need to replace operating funds lost to state budget cuts and to answer questions.
The remaining forums will take place as follows:
• Wednesday, April 14, 6:30 p.m., Noblesville City Hall
• Wednesday, April 28, 6:30 p.m., Noblesville City Hall

Referendum 2010: Operating Levy for General Fund

The Noblesville Board of School Trustees has voted to move forward with a $5 million operational referendum to allow school district to replace money for its General Fund, the fund that pays operating expenses, including teachers’ salaries.

Hazel Dell and Hinkle Creek elementary schools have been named Four Star Schools by the Indiana Department of Education. Six schools missed receiving the Four Star Award because of attendance.

Indiana Chamber names NHS a 'Best Buy' high school

Noblesville High School has been named a 'Best Buy" high school by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce for the 10th consecutive year. The designation recognizes NHS for achieving at a high academic level for a low amount of tax dollars.

NHS receives national certification for 'Project Lead the Way' program

Noblesville High School has received national certification for its Project Lead The Way program, a program that offers Civil Engineering and Architecture, Introduction to Engineering, and Principles of Engineering. Aerospace will be added to the course offerings for the 2010-11 school year.
